Sitting groups by day of the week
Saturday | Sunday | Monday | Wednesday | Friday | Orientation
 

1st and 3rd Saturdays - Mindful Movement and Meditation
9:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Use movement in standing positions to release tension so you are more at ease in your sitting meditation practice. Twenty minutes of gentle movement practice followed by forty minutes of silent meditation. Come and condition your busy Saturdays with mindfulness. and ease.
Led by Beth Chorpenning.


Sunday Morning Meditation, 9 -10 am

Followed by noble conversation (optional)
Taken from Buddhist tradition, Vipassana or Insight meditation cultivates being in the present moment. Mindfulness is generated through silent walking and silent sitting practice.
Orientation session every first Sunday of the month at 8:15 AM

2nd Sunday of the month - Sunday Half Day Sitting

9:00 a.m. Short reading/walking 10:15 a.m. Sitting
9:15 a.m. Sitting 11:00 a.m. Walking

11:55 Optional short reading and closure

Includes the "Regular Sunday Morning Sitting" from 9 to 10 AM.

Monday Evening Sitting Practice, Time: 6:30 to 7:30 PM

Wednesday Morning 7 to 8:00 am
Walking and sitting meditation.
 
Wednesday Evening Sangha, 7 PM - 8:45 PM
Orientation suggested for this sitting but not required for other sittings

Requirements: Orientation, Introduction Class, or previous training in Vipassana
For those who practice Vipassana: 10 minute walking, 40-45 minute sit, chanting and a program.


Orientation to learn the basics of Vipassana meditation

Every Wednesday at 6:15 PM preceding evening Sangha
The first Sunday of every month at 8:15 AM preceding the Sunday Sit


Loving-Kindness Meditation - a Guided Meditation
2nd and 4th Friday of each month, 12 -1:00 pm

Followed by Dharma discussion and noble conversation (optional) at 1 pm - 2pm on the 4th Friday of each month.

Taken from Buddhist tradition, Metta meditation cultivates our willingness to send and receive loving-kindness. Guided phrases and imagery are used to open the heart and mind - first to ourselves, and then to our loved ones, neutral ones, those we consider difficult, and finally all beings.
